We're reaching out with an urgent plea for help. Our family dog Bane, a sweet and loving boxer, is in the emergency vet after a freak accident at home. Ever the explorer, Bane decided to try the sourdough his mom, Darby, left on the counter in a glass bowl. The bowl shattered and in true Bane fashion, he ate the dough—glass and all.

Darby rushed Bane to the emergency vet, and he now needs life-saving surgery to remove both the sourdough and glass shards. The estimated cost of this surgery is between $7,000 and $10,000, barring any complications that might arise.

Bane isn't just a dog—he's family. He's Darby's world, like her child, and none of us can imagine a world without his big, goofy heart and constant love. We're doing everything we can, but this expense is overwhelming and unexpected.
