On the morning of June 16, Jose and his 18-year-old son, Alejandro, were out dropping off two younger siblings at school when they were pulled over by ICE officers. They were both quickly detained and soon moved to a detention facility in Louisiana. Jose has recently been released, but Alejandro, who had called the United States home since he was a little boy, has been deported.

Their detention has wildly disrupted their family life. Wife and mother Norma has been left behind to care for the remaining five children, ranging in age from 2 to 16 years, as Jose has not yet been able to secure a new job since his release. As a family, the children enjoyed visiting the park with their parents and cooking together.

Norma has struggled to cover the ongoing household expenses, while Jose continues to search for a job. With mounting legal fees, Norma faces an enormous uphill battle as she fights to keep her family together and stable. Any donation you make will directly help this family find their footing during this difficult time and provide them with the support they need to keep moving forward.
