Support Bailey's Road to Full Recovery

Hello, my name is Jessica Watson and I hope you can take a second to read Bailey's story.

Bailey is one of my Australian shepherds and he has recently run into some big health issues. On June 4th, he had a cystotomy to remove bladder stones. The surgery went well but he ended up running into a major complication that is really rare. A couple of days after his surgery, on June 8th, Bailey had to be rushed to the ER and then to a hospital because he developed cutaneous necrotizing vasculitis. This inflammatory disease is incredibly rare and really unpredictable (in humans and animals) but it is where the immune system goes into overdrive and starts to cause damage to blood vessels. We aren't sure if the cystotomy itself, a medication or a small infection caused Bailey to develop this disease. With CNV, the blood vessels in the skin start to die from too much inflammation and necrose. Bailey developed CNV all over his chest so he had to be admitted to the hospital for 5 days. He had to have a second surgery, a debridement surgery to remove most of the skin on his chest that had turned necrotic. His recovery hasn't exactly been going to plan. He has had to have daily hospital visits for bandage changes and a couple of ER visits due to his stomach having a hard time with antibiotics and his bandages not staying in place.

Despite everything that he is going through, he is still full of life and super healthy and is on the road to a full recovery. It is estimated to take months for his open wound to fully heal and with the constant hospital visits, the bills are starting to pile up and I am really close to no longer being able to cover the cost of the bandage changes. I want to make sure that he can still receive all the care that he needs in order to make a full recovery so every little bit helps. Thank you!
