Support Bailey’s Recovery After Heroic Act
Donation protected
On December 16th, our family experienced a terrifying attempted home invasion—an event that left us shaken and, most heartbreakingly, resulted in our beloved Bailey being shot in her left snout.
At first, we were told the wound was superficial, with no major damage. But months later, we discovered the reality was far worse than we had hoped. The bullet had actually lodged just outside her skull, and the gunshot caused three hairline fractures in her upper jaw—something that went unnoticed in the initial evaluation. These fractures led to four of her teeth dying beneath the surface of her gums, creating a serious risk of infection.
Bailey now requires specialized surgery to correct her jaw and remove the affected teeth, ensuring she doesn’t suffer further complications. The procedure alone is estimated to cost between $6,000 and $8,000, and we will also need to travel to North Carolina for two days to have it done.
This horrific incident has already cost our family nearly $20,000 in damages—thankfully, our insurance covered most of it. But now, months later, we are facing another unexpected burden. We are not ones to ask for handouts, but in this difficult time, we are reaching out for help. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to us and, most importantly, to Bailey.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
