My 15-month-old daughter was admitted to the PICU this past Monday after she had become stiff and floppy in my arms. She was having seizure-like activity; they found clots in her brain, and she's severely anemic. Her hemoglobin was a 2.3 when we got to the hospital when it should be around 13.

She has a bunch of upcoming tests that are so new that her insurance doesn't cover them at all. When we finally get discharged, she will need inpatient rehab to help her get back to where she was with eating, talking, and walking at least (she could need other help as well). We have no expected discharge date as of now, but inpatient is going to be hours away.

On top of our usual monthly expenses, we have these test bills coming, but the tests are the best way to get the answers we need! She was such a happy and healthy baby before this, never even really had as much as a cold!

We are hoping to raise enough for the tests and for her father to be able to take a little time off of work to be with us during this time and during rehab. He's working 9-hour days right now to cover our monthly expenses. I'm currently 27 weeks pregnant with her little sister, and I've been a stay-at-home mom since my daughter was born as well, so we really don't have any savings right now!
