Support Early Music on the Border!
El Paso Barroco (EPB) is committed to enriching the border's cultural landscape through the historically informed performance of 16th- through 18th-century chamber music.
Our ensemble performs on faithful replicas of historical instruments, using period performance practice to bring centuries of music to life. Our ultimate goal is to establish a baroque ensemble at the border, providing the community with access to world-class performances and educational programs.
El Paso Barroco was founded in 2017 with the intention to provide an accessible platform for local musicians to perform and connect with local communities.
In collaboration with partners like El Paso Museum of Art, Museo de Arte de Ciudad Juárez, Paso del Sur, the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (UACJ), the University of Arizona, and Johns Hopkins University, EPB aims to create spaces where music brings life to history and where culture and community can thrive.
We are raising funds for:
- Purchasing key period instruments (violins, violas da gamba, woodwinds, and a harpsichord)
- Covering travel and lodging for guest performers and collaborators
- Supporting operating costs (rehearsal space, website management, administration)
- Securing venues for performances and historical performance workshops
Your support directly helps us build something rare and beautiful in the desert we call home. Thank you for believing in our vision and helping El Paso Barroco grow.
With gratitude,
Alberto Macías & Octavio Macías
