I am raising money to help save my dog Baby’s life. She had a dental surgery which resulted in a horrible infection and abscess behind her eye. She has been transferred to 2 hospitals and is currently in critical ICU care.
While I am praying for my Baby to get through her CT scan and surgery, I am drowning in her medical bills. If anyone can help, it would be extremely impactful during this devastating time. Thank you so much for your support.
10/22 Morning Update: After many twists and turns, Baby is about to go into emergency surgery this afternoon on 10/22. The doctor needs to preform a CT scan after realizing the connection between a fistula in her

mouth and the rupture wound from an abscess below her eye. The CT scan should reveal if there are any other underlying infection pockets, infection of the bone, or any other serious issues. The skin on Baby’s face will be evaluated to see if there is any more chance of necrosis spreading. She also has a serious corneal ulcer needing evaluation. She may need to see another surgeon proceeding this to see what can be done with the infected gingival flap and it’s possible inability to close. Any donations, or even a share will help continue Baby’s essential life saving surgery. I am truly moved by the outpouring of love and generosity from others who want to see Baby heal as much as I do.

10/22 Evening Update: The CT scan revealed residual infection under her eye going towards the back of her head. The doctors believe it should resolve with dual antibiotics for a month. The surgical team was able to flush out the gingival flap and the fistula. There was a considerable amount of debris and scabbing that came out. The doctor is highly recommending Baby to undergo a second surgery tomorrow to close both holes. They were not able to complete it today due to her body temperature becoming too low and potentially hypothermic. She said if we do not close the holes, more gingival skin could become damaged and food or a foreign object could come up through the fistula and puncture her eye. Baby will need skin grafts to repair the gingival flap from her neck. The Opthamologist team was able to take a look at her corneal ulcer and they are afraid even after healing, Baby will likely be blind in that eye. The procedure she needs tomorrow will be another 4 thousand dollars. Every donation is extremely helpful so I can afford to pay for this next surgery. I am now about $15,000 into saving Baby’s life. Thank you so much for everyone’s support, well wishes, and extremely generous donations. I will be keeping you updated as soon as possible.

Baby Update 10/23: Surgery today was successful and she did very well under anesthesia. The surgical team closed the gingival flap and the fistula. She needs to be monitored again overnight and there is a possibility of her coming home tomorrow if she is feeling strong enough. She is on multiple aggressive antibiotics for her corneal ulcer and IV antibiotics for her residual infection. She will be transferred to liquid antibiotics before I am able to take her home.

Post surgery the doctors allowed me to come back into the ICU and see Baby. This was extremely special because generally they have you wait much longer. She nearly jumped out of the cage when she saw me, only an hour after her procedure. I will be visiting her again in the ICU tonight. Thank you everyone for your continued support and generosity Baby and I are so grateful to have such an amazing community of people rallying for her to get better. ❤️

Baby update 10/24: Baby was discharged from Tufts hospital around 1pm today. She must continue with her antibiotics for the next 4 weeks. She will be going to see a specialist for the corneal ulcer in her eye on Monday. Unfortunately, the ulcer looks a bit worse than before, which is concerning. Post surgery risks we need to keep an eye out for are re-infection, her fistula sutures coming out prematurely, or any increase in swelling or fever. I am going to be watching over Babygirl like a hawk these next weeks. She is currently taking a nice nap on the couch after finishing her dinner. This road to recovery is going to be a long one, but my girl never gives up. ❤️

Update 10/28: Baby saw the Opthamologist who preformed tests on both of her eyes. She has lost around 40-50% of the layer over her cornea. The doctor is adding a third antibiotic drop to be administered every 2 hours. Baby needs to see the doctor again this Friday to determine if the ulcer has stabilized or is continuing to worsen. In the case of it persisting, Baby will need to undergo an eye removal surgery. It breaks my heart to think this poor girl will possibly need another surgery. This will also be another 2-3k which is financially catastrophic for me at this point. Any help, even sharing her go fund me, or the smallest donation, is going to help Baby on her way to healing. Thank you so much for everyone’s support, it means the absolute world to us. ❤️

Baby Update 11/1: Baby is very excited to share her great news with all of her loving followers today. ❤️ She had 2 appointments today, both with positive results. The Opthamologist said her corneal ulcer is showing signs of improvement. She will continue with the antibiotic drops regimen for the next 2 weeks until her follow up appointment. If the ulcer heals, she may be able to keep her eye! The next appointment was a check up with her new vet. I was concerned about her fistula being reopened, but luckily it is still closed! The doctor said Baby should stay on the antibiotic regimen for the duration and follow up sooner if she has any significant changes. Baby is the strongest girl, and we are SO appreciative of everyone’s continued efforts to raise money for her costly surgeries. ❤️

Baby update 11/12: Todays appointment at the Opthamologist couldn’t have gone better. ❤️ Baby’s corneal ulcer is HEALED- due to my attentiveness and diligence to her strict daily drop regiment and the very knowledgeable doctor advising me. She will continue on the drops for the next 2 weeks, and continue long term dry eye drop maintenance for the foreseeable future in both eyes. They recommended that her stitches be removed below her eye, stating that the skin had healed enough. There is some redness and minor inflammation due to the crusty build up from her eye drops- but they said it should heal up within a week. She still needs to wear the cone for another week at a minimum- and have one final re check of the stitches site and eyes in 2-3 weeks. Although this is all amazing news, we are still so grateful for any help anyone has to offer. Baby’s medical expenses have been extremely expensive- upwards of 12,000. Any help, even sharing her story is EXTREMELY impactful. Thank you so much for everyone’s love, compassion, and support. ❤️

Baby update 11/21 I am really upset writing this post right now. Babycakes was seemingly doing better, then started showing signs of being in pain again. She is not opening her mouth all the way when yawning or eating and tilting her head to the side. I took her back to the hospital for a full exam and they put her on 2 oral antibiotics. They were unable to open her mouth to look inside because she was too sore to open it, but they mentioned her fistula possibly being open and reinfected. The doctor wants to see her again on Saturday to see if the antibiotics help her open her mouth again. She didn’t recommend Meloxicam yet because she didn’t want us to get false security she’s feeling better if she truly is not. She needs to be closely monitored and brought back in Saturday for evaluation. She would not eat her dinner tonight so I may have to bring her in even sooner. I am praying the antibiotics help, because otherwise she will need X-rays or a CT scan that I cannot afford to figure out what’s going on. I am feeling extremely disheartened, livid at the incompetent vet who did this to her, and worried sick. We took a step forward and now two steps back. Please hold your babies tight tonight and pray for Baby.

Baby update 11/22: Baby was admitted for overnight supportive care at the ER after vomiting blood and foaming from the mouth. She is dehydrated and needs IV antibiotics because she can no longer receive them orally. Tomorrow morning the doctor will call me and let me know if they will be sedating her for an exam to look inside her mouth, or if she will need X-rays or a CT scan. It’s suspected she may still have an infection from the retrobulbar abscess but still inconclusive. The stomach upset could be due to the antibiotics. I am destroyed. No matter how many questions I ask the doctors I always feel my heart ripped out every time I drive away from the hospital. Please pray and please share her donation page if you have the ability to do so.
