Help My Baby Girl Zara Fight for Her Life!

My name is David Kiogora, and I am the father of a beautiful, strong, and brave little girl named Zara. Zara is just 9 months old — my precious daughter, my joy, my light — and right now, she is fighting the biggest battle of her life.

Zara has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive pelvic germ cell tumor. This cruel disease has already caused severe kidney damage and blocked her urinary system. As her father, it breaks my heart to see my baby go through such pain. I would give anything to take it away from her.

In the past few weeks, Zara has endured more than any child should ever have to. She has undergone emergency dialysis and had nephrostomy tubes placed to save her kidneys — which, thank God, are now stable. But our journey is far from over.

Her doctors at Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi have now started her on chemotherapy, and she will soon need a major surgery to remove the tumor. This is the only path that can save her life and give her a chance at growing up, laughing, playing, and living the full, beautiful life I dream of for her every day.

As her father, all I want is to see Zara healthy and smiling again. But the cost of her treatment is overwhelming. We have been told her medical bills will exceed Ksh 2 million (around $16,000 USD). This is far beyond what I can manage on my own.
