I’m creating this on behalf of my best friend, Liz, and her husband, Colton Brown, during what should be the happiest time of their lives—but has quickly turned into something incredibly unexpected.

On March 26, 2026, they welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Winslie, via scheduled C-section in Cambridge, Nebraska. Shortly after birth, Winslie began having difficulty breathing on her own. What was first thought to be fluid in her lungs quickly became much more serious.

In a matter of days, Winslie has been life-flighted multiple times—from Cambridge to Kearney, then to Lincoln, and now to Denver, Colorado—where she is currently receiving specialized care.

Doctors have diagnosed Winslie with a severe and rare case of pulmonary hypertension. At this time, Liz and Colton are still waiting on more answers as medical teams work to determine the best course of treatment for their baby girl.

As you can imagine, this situation has brought not only emotional stress, but also a sudden and overwhelming financial burden. Between emergency flights, hospital stays, travel, lodging, meals, and time away from work, the costs are quickly adding up.
