Prayers and Support for Baby Weston’s Heart Surgery

Weston was born on January 24th, 2 weeks early, happy and what appeared to be healthy. On February 22nd, he was taken to the ER because he seemed to be struggling to breathe. A chest x-ray was taken, where they noticed Weston’s heart was enlarged and there was significant fluid in his lungs. After testing, it was then that Kyle and Kara were told that he was in heart failure. He was admitted to the PICU where diagnostic imaging was done, and it was found Weston had congenital heart failure due to a large VSD (hole in his heart). This caused excess fluid in his lungs, making it hard to breathe, also making feeding difficult, which caused failure to thrive in Weston. After 5 days in the hospital, he was sent home on medication, with an NG tube, and given time to grow. A recent follow-up showed that there has been no change in his heart, and surgery is necessary to protect his lungs. Weston will be having surgery within the upcoming weeks.

We are raising money for the family so that they can focus on Weston’s surgery and recovery without financial worry. This money will go towards any medical expenses, help with home expenses, hospital parking, food, Weston’s post-op care, etc., while being out of work to care for him. We appreciate any donation, and also ask for prayers for Weston for a full recovery. Thank you all
