Support Baby Tessa's Fight Against SCID
Donation protected
I am making this gofundme for my twin sister who just had the sweetest baby girl Tessa on 2/9. Her newborn screening diagnosed her with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID). This is a very rare genetic disorder in which infants are born with no immune system. This means that the simplest infections can be fatal and without treatment, life expectancy is around 2 years old. The only treatment is a bone marrow transplant.
This means my sister and Tessa’s dad have a long road ahead of them. Many trips back and forth to Mott’s Children’s Hospital. Finding a bone marrow match can take awhile and the recovery after, so while waiting they will have to isolate and can not work.
Every donation, no matter the size will go towards allowing them to fully concentrate on Tessas care. Another way to help is to register to become a bone marrow donor. This simple cheek swab will help determine if you might be a match with Tessa, or another sweet baby.
Thank you for sending positive thoughts and prayers for baby Tessa. Our family deeply appreciates all the support.
