Our baby girl Sophia was born perfect and healthy, we spent two fun and amazing weeks with her at home. Jessica and I had no idea that everything was about to change. Out of nowhere, Sophia’s heart began to fail rapidly. We rushed her to the hospital, and for the last five weeks we’ve been fighting alongside her as doctors worked to stabilize her and find answers to save her heart. It has been the hardest, longest month of our lives, but she is a fighter. Sophia is now at UCLA, her second hospital, and she is currently on life support waiting for a heart transplant. We are doing everything in our power to stay strong for her. But between medical expenses, travel, and being away from home for days at a time, our resources are quickly running out. Insurance helps, but it doesn’t come close to covering everything involved in a long term transplant journey. It is incredibly difficult to ask for help but we will do anything to make sure Sophia gets the care she needs. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us stay by her side and give her the chance at the healthy life she deserves.
