Support Baby Scottie in Her Heart Surgery Journey

Donation protected
On November 6, 2024, my niece, Morgan, and her husband, Hunter Aldrich, found out that their unborn baby girl has a heart defect called Truncus Arteriosus. This condition will require her to have open heart surgery during the first week of her life for survival.

On top of this, on December 19, they found out that baby Scottie also has DiGeorge Syndrome. This syndrome directly caused the heart defect but can also cause multiple other issues that could affect baby Scottie for the rest of her life; however, none of these other issues will be know until birth or possibly even months or years later.

Morgan and Hunter have been referred to Atlanta for both the birth of Scottie and for one of the many surgeries she will need to fix her heart defect. This will mean an extended stay in Atlanta at first Northside Hospital and then in the Children's Hospital of Atlanta (CHOA). The expenses they will incur will be great as they try to maintain both living in Atlanta (for at least a month or longer) and their Statesboro residence, as well. Morgan and Hunter also have a six year old son, Asher, that they love immensely, whose world is about to be turned upside down. Hunter is the only one working at this time and although he does have paid paternity leave, he will soon thereafter have to take FMLA, which is not paid. We are just looking to help them as much as possible during this trying time and praying for the best possible outcome.

We appreciate any help that is given and we also covet your prayers for our "Scottie girl", Morgan, Hunter, and Asher. We will be sure to update this page as soon as Scottie is born and as her journey progresses.
