I'm a proud grandmother!

On September 23, 2025, our family welcomed a beautiful new life into the world: baby Robin! Within minutes of his birth, he stopped breathing and was swiftly put on a ventilator. Extensive testing and treatments in the NICUl revealed an extremely rare genetic mutation affecting the body's ability to breathe automatically, especially during sleep, called Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome (CCHS). There is no cure for CCHS, but it is manageable with proper care for a near-normal life expectancy.

Robin had surgery to place a tracheostomy, connected to a ventilator for long-term breathing treatment, and a gastrostomy tube placed for nutrition and medication administration. He will require close supervision and monitoring around the clock. While we are excited about finally bringing our beloved baby home, we realize the challenges and high out-of-pocket costs in establishing a professional medical team along with his supplies, specialized medical equipment, and ongoing therapies ahead.

We are extremely grateful for all the love, support, and prayers that have been given on Robin's behalf.
