Dear Friends and Family,

Leeanne Zikoski and Rob Berger, recently welcomed their miracle baby boy, Robbie. After fear of losing him, he was finally stabilized with extensive medical interventions. This devastating experience began after Leeanne pushed for 7.5 hrs and required an emergency c-section.

Robbie suffered a large stroke in the left side of his brain, resulting in seizures. He also stopped breathing and turned blue. Robbie was then taken from Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, New Hampshire to the NICU at Mass General Hospital via emergency transport.

Leeanne and Rob are doing everything possible to ensure baby Robbie’s wellbeing. Unfortunately, nearly half of Robbie’s brain will remain nonfunctional. Robbie has already undergone over 100 tests run by a team of specialists. He will continue with a neurologist as well as working with genetics team to try to figure out why this happened. He will have weekly early intervention with OT and PT, and a visiting nurse. Robbie will have developmental disabilities with motor skills, which can affect his ability to walk. The early interventions will determine how well Robbie does in the long run.

Leeanne has also suffered with complications of her delivery, including a large hematoma between the uterus and bladder that required hospitalization and multiple cat scans to check for growth. This is very painful, will require months to heal and more medical interventions. She is also undergoing trauma therapy, as this has been very hard on her emotional wellbeing.
As you can imagine, this will be a costly journey. Any help for Leeanne and her family would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your support.

With gratitude and love,
Baby Robbie’s Family
