3 month Oakleigh Ann was born with a congenital liver condition called Biliary Atresia. If you don’t know who Oakleigh is and her story here it goes. On June 8th 2021 Oakleigh went to a peds appointment because she had a hernia we were concerned about at that visit our doctor showed concern because she was jaundice and was 2 months. They ordered some blood work and we went home. June 9th 7am we get many calls from our clinic to come in right away and discuss her blood work they took the previous day. We were then admitted after that. Oakleigh was in the hospital for 4 weeks. On June 11th 20201 Oakleigh had a biopsy to see what was wrong with her liver. At this time we had no idea she had biliary atresia. During the biopsy they found out that she has cirrhosis of the liver because Oakleigh’s Biliary Atresia went unnoticed for 8 week and the damage was significant. Oakleigh then had the life saving Kasai procedure at 8 weeks old. We are now almost 2 months post op and she isn’t getting better. They sent us home with a NG tube with hopes to have her gain weight she is currently struggling a little bit to get bigger. We are now having to transfer care to Seattle Children’s so they can preform her transplant. Because Oakleigh isn’t gaining weight We are scared she is going to have to be admitted in Seattle to wait for a liver instead of us staying home in Oregon with our two other babies and wait for the call. The donation money will be used for Bills her prescription, Gas and travel also Lodging in Seattle because we are going to have to move to the Seattle area after her transplant 3 hours away from home and our other girls. We met with Seattle Childrens last week 8/09 to be evaluated for a liver transplant. They have since called us and Oakleigh will be listed for a new liver this week! All prayers and donation are greatly appreciated. #Oakleighstrong
