Support baby Nisa- medical needs

Hi everyone! I'm Makyla's sister and want to provide an update about their beautiful newborn, Nisa.

About a week ago, Makyla and Isaia noticed a concerning cough and decided to take Nisa to the ER for respiratory distress. Unfortunately, what started as a normal event in any parent's life quickly turned into a nightmare.

Nisa's heart chamber was filling with fluid, and it was overflowing into her lungs. She was taken via ambulance to a children's hospital, where she was admitted. The doctors ran multiple tests to learn what was causing the distress to her heart and learned that her heart was failing.

As doctors began to discuss long-term care, it was decided she would be better if transferred to another hospital in Gainesville, FL, because Nisa would likely need more advanced care for her heart. So they were transferred last night. Makyla and Isaia were told to plan on at least a month in Gainesville --and potentially longer because a heart transplant is likely on the table.

They face new economic challenges now as they adjust to their new normal in Gainesville. Gainesville is over an hour away from their home in Kissimmee. While Makyla is still on maternity leave, Isaia has to take time away from work to care for Nisa. And, of course, medical bills are a concern as well.
