Meet sweet Antonina, or Nina for short

Nina was recently welcomed into the world, already showing just how strong and resilient she is. She was born with Down Syndrome and is currently in the NICU, where she's been bravely facing challenges from the very beginning.

Shortly after birth, Nina was diagnosed with persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn, a serious condition affecting her ability to get enough oxygen. She has required CPAP support, supplemental oxygen. Although she is no longer needing oxygen support as her lungs have grown stronger, she now relies on a feeding tube to help her grow and gain strength.

Her parents, Anna and Gabe, are first-time parents who have been by Nina's side every single day—spending hours in the NICU holding her, supporting her, and working closely with her care team to help her learn to feed and grow stronger so she can finally come home.

Despite everything, Nina is making incredible progress. Each day, she shows her fighting spirit—growing, improving, and inspiring everyone around her. But her journey is far from over. She still has a long road ahead, with ongoing medical care, therapies, and support needed to help her thrive.
