Hi, my name is Ayla and I'm organizing this fundraiser to help my 7 month old baby nephew Nathan and his parents.

Baby Nate was rushed to the ED Thursday night on the 20th, where they found that his labs were all critically low. He was sent straight to the PICU. During this time, he received multiple blood transfusions to bring his values up.

Nate's medical team has been working very hard to confirm a diagnosis since then, and on Sunday August 23rd, they determined that he as infant acute lymphoblastic B-cell leukemia (ALL). We found that ALL in infants is very rare -- the US only sees about 90 cases of ALL in children younger than 1 every year.

Since this is an extremely rare form of cancer, baby Nate will require at least 2 years of intensive chemotherapy. This is because the medical team will combat his cancer using chemotherapy combined with many different medications/drugs. Unfortunately, this treatment will last until Nate is 2 years old and the recurrence risk is also a huge concern.

Once chemotherapy begins, it will be the most difficult in the beginning. The fundraiser will be used to cover the many costs of the cancer journey and will also help with cost of living as for the first few months, Nathan Senior will not be able to work.
