Support Baby Meera’s Healing Path

Dearest Family, friends, and caring hearts near & far,

My name is Jenn Meltzer and I am the Auntie of Sweet Meera Serr. Meera is 3 months old and currently hospitalized due to a sudden recent discovery she was in heart failure on New Year's Eve Day. On behalf of my sister & brother-in-law, Jamie & George Serr, and big sister, 3-year-old Arya, I am reaching out for support.

Most of the future is unknown, but we know without a doubt emotional and financial pressures will be mounting. Our little Meera is a true warrior already amazing her care team with each challenge she faces. The journey started with talks of a heart transplant, and because of her strength, spirit, and outstanding pediatric cardiac care team at NYU’s Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital, those talks have now turned to other medically supported options.

We intend to share updates as this journey continues but wanted to swiftly establish an avenue for support. Jamie and George feel financial support will allow the most flexibility to focus support where it’s needed as this path unfolds. Immediate needs are in the area of lost work, travel expenses, and childcare for big sister Arya. Additional future expectations include therapeutic therapies, continued childcare, and possible housing needs.

Initially hospitalized on 12/28 for RSV in New Jersey and then an emergency transfer to NYC on 12/31 have had Meera and her family living at the hospital for 13 nights, an unimaginable start to the New Year and unimaginable year to come. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and appreciate any support you are able to offer to the blessings of this fund. Exposing the vulnerability Jamie and George feel is a delicate balance, and we feel this is the best place for privacy and productivity where support is concerned.
