As a Friend/Sister: Tai Foster (Beloved Fitness Instructor, Johnson. C Smith University Alum, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, and Financial Professional) is one of the most kind, supportive, sweet, and truly DESERVING people that I know. This is why, as much as we praise God together - I still cannot fathom why she - and newborn Baby McKenzie Ann - have faced so much turmoil, so early on.
Born on March 13th, 2026, McKenzie Ann Foster's health battles started when she was still in the womb. Tai experienced numerous health concerns throughout her pregnancy, which ultimately led her health team to make the decision that a C-section at 36 weeks would be the safest delivery option. And while it was - McKenzie, now 5 weeks into her NICU stay - has multiple surgeries on the horizon already.
McKenzie has a nasal obstruction that affects her ability to breathe correctly - thus also affecting her ability to both breathe, and eat, on her own without the assistance of a breathing/feeding tube via mouth. The first surgery is aimed at assisting in that first major issue - she will need a Trach, G-tube, as well as continued NICU care. Our prayer is that WHEN she comes home - it will be without the need of a ventilator!!!
She also has a special genetic condition that requires facial surgery, to help correct her smaller and narrow nasal airways and remove the obstruction. This will require several reconstructive surgerie not only on her airways, but her nose and other areas associated with her condition. Past that, specialized care and training will be required for anyone who will take part in her home care - as future daily, and post-operation care.
Between frequent hospital visits, recovery from a rough Cesarean, and the uncertainty of how long baby will need intensive care - the financial and logistical strain is quickly adding up. This fundraiser was created to simply help Tai - who has given so much GOOD to everyone she comes in contact with - with the unexpected costs that come with a long NICU stay: including gas for frequent hospital visits, meals while at the hospital, household needs, as well as medical and baby supplies when she is able to come home.
Any help at all is greatly appreciated. All funds will go towards medical bills, outpatient therapies, follow-up appointments, and helping to cover living expenses while Tai is spending every day at McKenzie's side, placing her daughter first over everything (with herself still battling multiple stressors that have not only led to limitations on her own care/nourishment - but also severe anxiety and postpartum depression).
We know times are hard for many people, so please know that donations are greatly appreciated; but also know that prayers, kind words, and SHARING THIS STORY - means just as much.
McKenzie is a fighter, and your support for her and her Mother in this time would be a complete blessing for their family.
Thank you, and God Bless!
