The Marchand family has been blessed with 7 beautiful, healthy children. Earlier this year, Mike and Emily discovered they were expecting again. Joy and excitement followed. Then, at a routine appointment to check on baby Marchand, heartbreaking news was delivered. Baby Marchand was discovered to have anomalies indicating Trisomy 13, a genetic disorder resulting from an extra copy of the 13th chromosome. To many families, this diagnosis is a death sentence for the baby. But the Marchand family isn't giving up on their baby. Already against the odds, baby Marchand has survived 36 weeks and will be delivered in early September. Through ultrasounds and other appointments, many issues have been discovered in baby Marchand--including in her heart, brain, and a cleft palate. The Marchands are fighting for their baby and want to give her every chance possible at living this beautiful life. As many families who have any experience in hospitals know, medical bills pile up quickly. Additionally, Mike started employment at a company in June and recently found out he has no paid parental leave and a very limited number of paid vacation hours. Please consider supporting the family as they navigate these circumstances of medical bills and Mike being able to be present with the family while covering living expenses.
