On January 26, 2026, our world changed forever when our grandson, Logan Burk, was born. At first, everything seemed normal. We were filled with joy, hope, & excitement. But within days, that joy turned into fear.

On day three of Logan’s life, doctors discovered he has a rare blood disease that causes his blood to turn acidic—slowly shutting down his vital organs. What began as a healthy newborn quickly became a fight for survival. Logan was airlifted to Loma Linda Children’s Hospital, where he is currently in the NICU fighting for his life.

There have been moments we weren’t sure he would make it. Moments that took our breath away and broke our hearts. But Logan is a fighter. Against all odds, he is still here, still holding on, still showing us how strong such a tiny little boy can be.

As you can imagine, the medical costs are overwhelming and continue to grow every single day. This has placed an enormous financial burden on his parents, Joshua and Melissa, as well as our entire family—on top of the emotional toll of watching a newborn battle for his life.
