Support Baby LanaRose in Her Battle Against Leukemia

Dear friends, family and kind humans,

My name is Jessica and in my years as an early childhood special education teacher, I have formed some strong and lasting relationships with the families of the students with whom I work. One of these families is my girl Genesis’ family and I’m looking for your help to fundraise for the newest member of their family, LanaRose. LanaRose is Genesis’ niece, born to her oldest sister Saqarra in August 2023. LanaRose lives at home with her mom Saqarra, dad Conner, grandma Sharlotte, and her auntie's Isis (age 13) and Genesis (age 7).

Help Baby LanaRose Fight Leukemia:

Baby LanaRose was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia on May 17th, 2024. A couple weeks prior to her diagnosis LanaRose began to have swollen lymph nodes followed by small bruises covering her body and a low grade fever. Initial testing came back normal and it wasn’t until a 4th trip to Children’s Hospital in Aurora, Colorado that blood tests showed signs of cancer and a bone marrow test confirmed Acute Myelogeous Leukemia (AMML). Plan for treatment requires 5 rounds of chemotherapy over the next 6 months that will require LanaRose to be inpatient at the hospital for the majority of the next 6 months to keep her in a protected environment because the chemotherapy will deplete her immune system. LanaRose is 9 months old and her mother Saqarra will have to be with her every step of the way.

Why They Need Your Help and What the Funds Will Be Used For:

-Genesis has severe and multiple disabilities and requires round-the-clock care and assistance for all activities of daily living. Funds will help with respite care for Genesis so grandma Sharlotte can be added support baby LanaRose and her mom Saqarra during hospital stays.

-Living expenses for mom Saqarra as she will not be able to work while staying by baby LanaRose's hospital bedside during extended chemotherapy visits.
