Koen’s Fight with Cancer
Thank you all for your love, support, kindness, generosity, and information. It all helps. It all matters.
From Jenni: “Koen started his second round of chemo on Friday. So far he seems to be handling it well. He’ll probably be here for about two weeks. He’s making big strides in his recovery! He has torticollis (he keeps his head tilted to the side), but is holding his head up, he can roll onto his elbows and knees and once in a crawling position can take a few crawling “steps” and can sit unassisted. We’re so proud of him and how far he’s come ❤️“
**THIS IS AN UPDATE. FOR MORE INFO READ ORIGINAL TEXT BELOW:
Jen and Kale’s sweet one-year-old Koen was recently diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor, and we are raising money to help their family through medical treatment.
After some challenging weeks of medical troubles and frustrations, early this week an MRI finally showed a large tumor. It's very close to some critical areas, and the shape of it will make it pretty complex to remove. Surgery is planned but will likely need to be followed up by a secondary surgery within days or weeks. Then most likely radiation and possibly chemo.
Koen and his parents are currently at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital where he is struggling, but so strong and as sweet as ever.
Jen said, “He’s doing as well as I could hope. He was pulling down my mask and joking with me last night. If you pray, please pray for Koen, or send any positive thoughts and intentions his way.”
We add on to her request for prayers and thoughts. Please donate and share this fundraiser to support and show love to the Niemiec family. Every effort, share, prayer, and donation will help their family. We love them. Thank you
