Support Baby Koa’s Healing Journey at the Children’s Hospital
Our newborn son, Koa Lawrence Rain Stilwell, needs your help.
Our beautiful baby boy Koa was born weighing 7 lbs 8 oz, perfect in every way — but shortly after birth, he developed a UTI that required urgent care and admission to the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary.
Doctors have told us that Koa will need to stay in the Children’s Hospital for over a month, including through the holidays, while he receives round-the-clock treatment, monitoring, and medication.
This is not how we imagined Koa’s first weeks of life, but we remain hopeful and incredibly proud of how strong he is. Instead of celebrating his first Christmas at home, we will be spending it at the hospital by his bedside, supporting him as he heals.

Our Family
We are Leif Stilwell and Shayne Duce, proud parents to baby Koa, and also caregivers to our other children at home.
Balancing long days at the hospital with caring for our family has been extremely challenging, but we are doing everything we can to stay strong for all of our kids — especially Koa.

Why We’re Asking for Help — Our Goal: $8,000
Koa’s extended stay, especially during the holiday season, has placed a significant financial strain on our family.
We have set a goal of $8,000 to help us manage the unexpected and ongoing costs that come with having a newborn in the hospital for such a long period.
Your support will help cover:
Travel costs to and from the Alberta Children’s Hospital
Medication and medical-related expenses
Food and daily living costs during long hospital days
Care for our other children at home
Bills and rent during this time of reduced income and increased stress
Any donation, big or small, will make a meaningful difference and help us stay focused on supporting Koa’s healing.

How You Can Help
Your support — whether through donating or sharing — means the world to us. It lifts a tremendous weight off our shoulders and allows us to stay present with Koa during this difficult time.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for believing in our baby boy’s strength.
We hold onto hope every day and cannot wait for the moment we bring Koa home.

Future Updates We Will Share
We will continue to update everyone as Koa progresses. Your support makes such a difference, and we truly appreciate your kindness and compassion in this tough time.
