Support Baby Kylie’s NICU Journey

Hi, my name is Kendyl Parker, and I am making this with Janel and Hunter’s permission. Janel had her beautiful baby girl, Kylie Marie, at just 27 weeks, forty-eight hours ago. There are a lot of unknowns, but what we do know is that God is in control and they are both safe! Hunter and Janel have three older daughters: Ryann, Hollie, and Stella. This is to help with any groceries they may need, medical bills that come in, and to help pay their mortgage while they are in the NICU with sweet Kylie! Coming from experience, the NICU is a very intimidating and stressful place. Watching your baby grow outside of your womb is something no one can prepare for, and unfortunately, the bills outside of the NICU don’t stop while you’re in there. Any amount will ultimately give Hunter more time with Janel and Kylie in the NICU. If you can’t donate, that’s okay, thank you for being here! Please say a prayer for them, and I will post updates here as they come in.

From Janel: “I went into the hospital in Albany around 12:30 pm on the 22nd because I had slight bleeding, which I’ve never experienced before. I went in and got monitored for more than an hour without a single contraction. The baby looked and sounded great, and so did all of my vitals. I did tell them I had been having what I thought were Braxton Hicks for almost 3 or 4 days, but because I wasn’t currently contracting at all, they weren’t concerned and didn’t want to check my cervix and risk infection since I was still so early on. They sent me home, and the rest of the day was pretty normal, some contracting here and there but nothing insane or unmanageable. Everything started picking up in the evening, and by 11 pm, I was attempting to go to sleep, but they kept waking me up. It happened often enough that I started timing the contractions, and slowly they started to get closer together and more intense. After debating with myself for an hour and a half, at 1:29 am, I told Hunter to come home so we could head to the hospital because I had started bleeding a little worse, and the contractions were not stopping. By 2:00 am, every contraction I had was accompanied by INTENSE pressure, which I knew was not good but was trying to tell myself I was overreacting . At 2:09 am, the pressure was so intense I sat on the toilet and reached down to check, and I could feel what I thought was her head (it was, but in the sack) pretty much crowning because she was so small compared to what I was used to. I pushed once, and she came out directly into my hands, water and sack completely intact! I broke it and pulled her up to me, and she cried a little and then was breathing fine and wasn’t turning blue. I called 911, and paramedics got to me within like 6 minutes, I think. The dispatcher had to call Hunter to let him know what had happened . From there, I held her, and we rode in the ambulance to Lebanon.”
