Support Baby Kaiden and Mama Christie

Kaiden Hampel was born July 21st, 2021 at 33 weeks, with a severe heart defect. Though he and mom have been warriors since they found out about Kaiden’s condition, early on, the fight is far from over. His heart was extremely weak at birth and was taken into immediate open heart surgery. Kaiden had a tough first night. He coded and required five minutes of chest compressions and were then unable to to control his blood pressure and he was placed on life support to allow his little heart and lungs a much needed break. He has since been slowly taken off and is making small improvements and is mostly stable. He is beginning to be more responsive as they reduce his medication. 

There are  a lot of unknowns in Kaiden’s future, but what we do know is him and mom Christie are incredibly strong and are ready for whatever comes their way!

Christie needs all the support we as her community can give her. She is a dedicated and hard working director for The Goddard School and is loved by her staff and co workers. Christie, big sister Maisyn and baby Kaiden have a long and trying road ahead of them.
