Hello, my name is Rodrigo, and I am writing on behalf of my family, Jessenia and our daughter Camila. In July of 2024, our family was overflowing with joy upon hearing the wonderful news that my son, Sebastian, and his beautiful partner, Jordan, were expecting their first child—my very first grandchild, due on March 8! The excitement was immense as Jude became our family's first grandchild, first nephew, and first great-grandchild.

However, our joy turned into uncertainty and concern when baby Jude was diagnosed with multiple congenital heart defects. He has been diagnosed with double outlet right ventricle with transposition, severe pulmonary stenosis, and a ventricular septal defect (VSD). This condition will necessitate specialized care immediately after his birth. To ensure Jude receives the best possible treatment, Jordan and Sebastian will need to temporarily relocate to Edmonton on February 13, where leading cardiologists and premier facilities for major cardiac treatments in Western Canada are located.

Jude's journey will involve significant medical care, with his first heart surgery expected to take place between 2 to 6 months of age, followed by another procedure between the ages of 3 to 5 years. In these early days, Jordan and Sebastian will need to take time off work to focus entirely on caring for their precious son and supporting his recovery.
