Hailey and Ryan Delf, owners of Delf’s Pro Gym, are facing every parent’s worst nightmare as they fight for the health of their newborn daughter, Florence Elizabeth—affectionately known as Fizzy. Fizzy was born on December 14 after a difficult breech birth and was immediately admitted to the NICU at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Doctors were concerned about brain swelling after a lack of oxygen, but after a week of uncertainty and hope, Fizzy was able to go home with her family - and she was completely normal, healthy and thriving.

Just as they began to settle in, their world was turned upside down again. On January 13, Fizzy became very lethargic. Hailey and Ryan’s quick thinking got her to Genesis, but doctors soon decided she needed to be airlifted back to Iowa City. Fizzy is now critically ill, battling severe staph infections that have overwhelmed her immune system. These infections have caused lung collapses and led to multiple abscesses - pockets of staph infection - that must be surgically removed.

Through it all, Hailey and Ryan have stayed by her side, along with their older daughter, Teddy, doing everything they can to support Fizzy’s fight.

During this time, Hailey and Ryan have been living in Iowa City, far from their home and their beloved clients at Delf’s Pro Gym. The medical bills are piling up, and travel expenses and lost income are adding to their stress.
