We (Stephen Ford grandfather- & Rachel Shoopman - aunt) created this fundraiser to help support two amazing, resilient new parents, Jacob and Nicole Ford, who are currently facing a challenging journey full of unknowns.

At 31 weeks, 4 days, Nicole was unexpectedly rushed into an emergency C-section in order to save both herself and their baby Ellie, due to severe preeclampsia.

Little Eleanor "Ellie" Leeann Ford was born weighing only 2lbs, 4oz and just 14 3/4 inches long. While this is not how they planned to welcome Ellie into this world, she is absolutely loved beyond measure!

While I'm happy to say that Ellie is a strong, little fighter we do know that she will be spending a considerable amount of time in the NICU and there are still a lot of unknowns in her future.

Thankfully, Nicole is now home after spending 6 days in the hospital and is still trying to recover physically and emotionally.

We know all of this has caused a lot of stress and unknowns for Jacob and Nicole and any donations will help ease the burden of:

Medical expenses not covered by insurance for mom and baby

Travel and meals while going back and forth to the hospital

Lost income due to Ellie coming early which forced Nicole into a mostly unpaid maternity leave

Unexpected costs from a long-term NICU stay
