Support Baby Elijah in His Fight For Life

Meet Elijah Rodolfo Benjamin Tapusoa

Born 25/11/24

At 28 weeks pregnant, parents Terri & Isaiah were offered the heartbreaking option of late termination as they found out that Baby Elijah was going to be born with (HRHS) Right Single Ventricle Hypoplastic - a rare congenital heart disease. They were told his chances of survival were low and that there would be a long journey of medical intervention in order for him to have a chance at life. Terri & Isaiah declined late termination and stayed strong in their faith, that they would meet Elijah. Upon birth it was discovered that he was born with his oesophagus and stomach disconnected, leading to his first surgery at 16 hours old.

As a result, Elijah is currently being fed through a feeding tube directly to his stomach as-well as a roplogel tube. He has also had a stoma inserted as his intestines caught the complications of NEC (Necrotizing Enterocolitis) aswell as a shunt inserted into his arteries at just 9 days old.

To date he has had 6 major surgeries, 6 minor surgeries and 12 blood transfusions. He is currently at Queensland Children’s Hospital in the (PICU) Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Although his prognosis has improved, Elijah and his family are still facing a long road ahead, with the hope that he may be able to come home around June. Isaiah & Terri also have two other children, one of which has special needs.

Some of you may have been lucky enough to meet Isaiah on a removal with Kova. He’s a proud, caring and loving family man. He is also a man of faith. He has been an Integral part of the Kova furniture removal family for the last four years and we love him and his family dearly.
