Update as of 6/11/2025-
Dominic has had his first surgery to remove 7cms of his bowel that was obstructed. He currently has a double stoma and is stable for now.
Unfortunately he will need to undergo a second surgery to reattach his bowels and put them back in, however, they don’t want to do this until his body is absorbing nutrients properly. This means refeeding the stoma output back into his lower bowels which is quite a fiddly procedure.
Dom’s due date was supposed to be the 7th of December but it is looking like he may not make it home for Christmas.
Unfortunately if this is the case, I will be spending it here alone with him and Paul will be in Dubbo alone, working to keep us afloat and pay rent and bills.
Out of the donations we have received so far we managed to get Paul here for a few days as it covered rent and also 4 brand new tyres on our car.
Hi guys, it’s Bonnie…
This is super hard for me to even create a gofundme as i generally don’t like asking for help, however, things are getting really tough.
Most of you know, I had a really rough pregnancy. During my second trimester, I had a nasty infection that threatened both mine and our baby’s lives….
This sent me into preterm labour at just 25 weeks.
Thankfully, Dubbo base had me flown to Sydney Nepean Hospital where i had the best care possible. I was admitted at Nepean for just over 3 weeks.
As you can imagine, this was really hard on our family. Paul had to take on the responsibility of looking after Peyton as well as taking on another job as I was supposed to still be at work for another 3 months before taking maternity leave.
This meant Paul couldn’t spend much time with me- I was all alone in Sydney, scared, pregnant and home sick.
My mental health took a massive plunge and as I was stable and they managed to stop labour, i went home after 3 weeks.
Not even 11 hours later after arriving at home, i was awoken by my cat swatting at me to wake me up- she was trying to tell me something was wrong.
I sat up and sure enough, I Was in active labour…. 5min drive to Dubbo base and by the time we arrived, I was fully dilated.
At 28 weeks + 3 days, on 17/09/2025 I birthed our son Dominic who weighed 1 whole kilo.
That night, Dom was flown to Sydney Nepean Hospital as he was very premature and needed extra support.
So yet again, I had to pack my bags and go back to living at the hospital to support our baby while Paul has had to spend most of his time working in Dubbo.
Unfortunately, yesterday- Dominic took a turn for the worst and has a bowel blockage which can turn into a life threatening infection called Necrotizing Enterocilitis- this means he may need a section of his bowel removed. He was put back onto the ventilator and rushed to Westmead children’s hospital where he may have to undergo surgery.
As you can imagine, it is quite costly for both of us to be travelling to and from Sydney constantly. I need support from Paul more than ever right now incase our baby has to undergo surgery but unfortunately we cannot afford for him to take time off work to be here with me and our baby
I guess what we were hoping is that if anyone is in any kind of position to donate anything- even small- it would be a huge help and greatly appreciated as it means Paul could be here with us more often. I would have the support I need and Paul would be able to spend more precious time with our son while he is so sick.
Our car desperately needs a service and new tyres from all of the travel, our bills are piling up and we need to prepare our house for when our son finally gets to come home.
Please share around if you can
