Baby Coda's NICU Journey

Our sweet baby boy Coda Wayne McCorkle was born on 05/29/2025 at 1:50 pm. Weight: 6 lb. 12 oz. Length: 19.25 inches.

Friday morning around 12:20 am, Coda had to go to the nursery because he started grunting. The hospital at Sweetwater Hospital in TX put him on 2 ml of oxygen. Until around 9:30 pm that night, our worst nightmare happened. We were told he was being life-flighted to Covenant Children’s Hospital in Lubbock, TX. The doctor and nurse told us he stopped breathing multiple times, and they had to shake him to make him start breathing again. Watching him being loaded into the helicopter was the most painful and heartbreaking experience we have ever experienced. No one is prepared for this to happen. When he arrived in Lubbock, he was admitted to the NICU.

The money that is raised will be used for travel expenses, gas, hotel costs for doctor's appointments, and any medications.
