Support Baby Cash's Journey: Born Early, Fighting Strong
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,
On November 19th, our sister Kendra, her husband Tyler and their sweet baby boy, Cash, faced a sudden and unexpected turn in their journey towards becoming a family of four. What began as routine monitoring for potential signs of pre-eclampsia, became a life-changing emergency.
On the morning of November 19th, Kendra woke up early with a very concerning headache and despite her efforts to remedy it and monitor her own blood pressure from home, she was advised to go to the ER for further evaluation. Once there, her blood pressure spiked and she was immediately transferred to labor and delivery. After several tests and evaluations, Kendra received the heartbreaking news that for her health—and the health of baby Cash—a C-section would need to be performed within the next 24 hours.
She was put on a Magnesium IV to help control her blood pressure and prevent seizures, while doctors also started a steroid injection to help prepare Cash’s lungs for an early birth.
At 9 AM on November 20th, Baby Cash was born, weighing 5 lbs 3 oz and measuring 19 inches long and the moment he entered the world, he cried loudly, making everyone in the room smile with relief. However, Cash was immediately taken to the NICU for care and monitoring, where an incredible team of nurses and doctors have been supporting him every step of the way.
Due to his early arrival at 32 weeks, Cash needed help with breathing and temperature regulation. He was placed on CPAP, an oxygen support system, and kept in an incubator to maintain his body temperature. Because his lungs were not fully developed, he required additional medicine to help them mature. He also became jaundiced due to not being able to feed immediately, so he spent 24 hours under special blue lights.
Slowly but surely, Cash has been improving. His CPAP and oxygen support have been reduced, and doctors are hopeful that he will continue to grow stronger each day. He is expected to remain in the NICU for a couple more weeks, or as long as he requires while he learns to feed from a bottle and gain weight. Once he’s released, he will still need some extra care and support, as he is several weeks behind in terms of typical newborn development.
This unexpected emergency has left Kendra and her family with both emotional and financial burdens. Medical bills, ongoing treatments for both mom and baby, and the cost of staying by Cash’s side while he’s in the NICU have already started to add up.
We are starting this fundraiser to support the Morgan family during this challenging time. The funds will help cover mounting medical expenses, lost wages, and the many costs associated with having a premature baby in the NICU.
Any support, whether through donations or simply sharing this story, would mean the world to them as they navigate the uncertain days ahead. If you would prefer to donate directly, please contact Tyler or Kendra. We are incredibly grateful for your love, ongoing prayers, and help as Cash continues to fight and grow stronger every day.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support. “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.”
With love and gratitude,
