Support baby Carter & the Reyes family

On April 16th, 2022 the most perfect little blessing was born. Instantly, Carter Reyes was met with so much love by his mother & father, Kaitlin and Zodiac. Baby Carter's first few weeks of life were like any other; bonding with mom & dad (as well as his 4 legged brother) and being (rightfully) oo’d and awed over. At his two month checkup, his doctor told them it was imperative they went to the hospital because his iron was low; thus started months and months of hospital visits and every test known to man. The first 5 months of his life were spent traveling to Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami every 2 weeks for appointments.

In early January, the results were in and devastatingly, Carter was diagnosed with Pearson Syndrome; a rare disorder that causes problems with various parts of the body, particularly the bone marrow and the pancreas. So much is unknown but the disorder has the potential to disrupt the liver, kidneys, heart, eyes, ears, and brain as Carter develops.

While the family is still full of hope and faith, there is no cure currently, only management of symptoms which is a heavy burden. We are starting this GoFundMe to aid with the expenses of medical bills, hospital stays, gas, and accommodations. To endure the amount of stress they were under in Carter's first year of life is enough to make anyone miserable, but the Reyes family stands tall with the support of their amazing medical care providers, God, as well as their family & friends. Together as a community, we can help ease the stress so they can direct all of their energy into raising a happy young man.
