On July 6, baby Briar Michelle was born unexpectedly at just 29 weeks and 4 days via emergency C-section. Shortly after birth, doctors discovered she was facing extremely rare medical anomalies that will require long-term NICU care and multiple surgeries in the months and years ahead.

At just 5 days old, Briar underwent her first surgery and is currently being cared for at Seattle Children’s. Her parents, Maisie and Tyler, are staying in Seattle for the foreseeable future as her care continues. It’s still uncertain when she’ll be able to transfer to their local NICU or eventually come home.

This GoFundMe has been created to help ease the financial burden of medical travel, temporary lodging, time away from work, and the many unexpected costs that come with supporting a medically complex and premature baby.
