Support Baby Beaux and Nina's Recovery

On July 4, 2023, we welcomed our baby boy Beaux into the world - 7lbs 4oz on 7/4! Though it was not an easy pregnancy, the family was overjoyed - because getting pregnant at all was a miracle. On July 2, Nina went in to be induced. After 28 long hours of labor, she had to get an emergency C-section. Unfortunately, baby Beaux was face up and his head had gotten stuck in the pelvis. This led to a more extensive surgery, as doctors had to pull him out of the pelvis, causing fluid buildup, swelling to the brain, and oxygen deprivation (hypoxia). He was rushed to the NICU and hooked up to arterial lines. Doctors are currently trying to reduce the swelling on his brain.

While this was occurring, Nina's condition worsened and she lost over 3 liters of blood as doctors fought to save her. She was rushed into emergency surgery, intubated, and had to undergo a full hysterectomy.

We almost lost both of them, but mamma and baby pulled through! Nina was released from the ICU on July 5, is no longer intubated, and is recovering in the hospital. Baby Beaux is in NICU still until they can reduce the swelling, and increase his oxygen intake. She has still not been able to hold her baby boy.

This sweet family needs our help now more than ever. Nina had to be on bed rest the last few months of her pregnancy unable to work, and Daniel is a contract employee on hourly pay without benefits. The last few days with him not working have taken a huge hit to their finances, and the medical bills are piling up.
