Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
On April 10, my dear niece, Ava Pineda, was diagnosed with Leukemia (Blood Cancer).
In the 34 days that Ava was in the hospital, she had a surgery to place the port in her chest, had 8 rounds of chemo, 10 blood platelet transfusions, 5 blood transfusions, caught 2 viruses, got mouth sores, had 8 straight days of fever, got high blood pressure, developed an enlarged liver, was on 4 antibiotics and for 2 weeks she stopped smiling, eating and talking which required her to be on a constant morphine drip & IV nutrition. It broke her parents to see their baby suffer so much and with so many straight weeks of decline, it was so hard to imagine the day she would start getting better. To go from a stage 4 Leukemia diagnoses where all of her red blood counts had been wiped out by the cancer to where we are today is just a true blessing. It feels unreal.
But the struggle isn't over. Ava has to continue Chemo for the next 2.5 years, which on anybody's daily well being is hard.
We are humbly asking for your assistance to help Brandi and Brandon. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant impact on their lives during this critical time. If you are unable to donate, all we ask is a prayer for Ava's speedy recovery. Your generosity will provide Brandi and Brandon with the support they need to care for Ava as much as possible. It will help alleviate the financial burden and allow Brandi to focus on what truly matters – her daughter’s recovery and their path to a safe and stable future. Thank you for your kindness and support.
