My niece Jade welcomed her first baby, A’riyah, this week—arriving a month early at just 4.6 lbs. She may be tiny, but she is MIGHTY—and already showing a big personality, as you can see in the first photo, taken just after she was born. Unfortunately, challenges began shortly after her arrival.

This has been an incredibly difficult week. Jade had an emergency C-section with complications and had to be put under general anesthesia. Since then, A’riyah has been in the NICU with ongoing medical concerns that doctors are still working to understand.

Right now, A’riyah is being airlifted to Denver for more advanced care.

As you can imagine, this has been overwhelming and exhausting for everyone. Jade’s mom and sister are driving over the mountain to meet them there, and the unexpected costs for gas, food, and lodging are quickly adding up.
