Our sweet baby Amelia is in the hospital fighting for her life. The twins Audrey and Amelia were born early at 35 weeks. Amelia being the smaller of the two, only weighed 3 pounds 14 ounces. She was growing stronger every day in the NICU with her sister. After a few weeks, she went into respiratory distress, prompting immediate testing. She is now fighting a serious heart defect called an aortic coarctation - a condition where the main aortic valve narrows and can eventually close. This restricts blood flow through her tiny body and requires intensive surgery to repair. She was recently airlifted to a critical care hospital, where she’s stabilized, on a ventilator tube, and receiving IV nutrition (TPN) through a PICC line instead of eating. The medicine currently helping her blood flow is only a temporary solution — she’ll need open-heart surgery once she gains a bit more weight in the near future.

We are praying for complete healing, steady hands for her doctors, and strength for her parents and our family during this difficult time.

Donated funds will help cover travel, meals, family expenses, and uncovered medical expenses, allowing her parents to stay close to Amelia as she prepares for surgery and recovery.

Her sister Audrey is now home and doing well. She will be checked by a cardiologist to ensure she does not share the same defect. Our family is taking turns caring for her day and night so her parents aren't overwhelmed and can rest in between the chaos. Due to this, our family sometimes needs to take off work, which results in loss of income.
