Amelia came into the world much earlier than anyone expected. Born almost 16 weeks early, she weighed just 1 pound 7 ounces and immediately began the fight of her life in the NICU.

For 182 days — nearly six months — the NICU became her home. During that time she faced surgeries, complications, and more challenges than any baby should have to endure. But through it all, Amelia showed incredible strength and determination.

Amelia’s journey has also come with a heartbreaking loss. Her father is no longer here, leaving her with only the piece of him she carries within her. As her mom, I now take on the role of both parents — working twice as hard to provide, protect, and make sure she grows up surrounded by the love of two people. She may only have one parent by her side, but she will never lack love.

When she was finally able to come home, it was a moment our family had prayed and waited for. She had grown from that tiny 1 lb 7 oz fighter to a 10-pound miracle.

But Amelia’s journey didn’t end when she left the NICU.

Because of her extreme prematurity and the complications she’s faced, Amelia requires frequent medical care, specialist visits, therapies, and monitoring to support her growth and development. Recently, we’ve also faced unexpected medical setbacks, including pneumonia and new concerns with fluid on her brain that required emergency care and additional procedures.

These medical needs mean regular trips to appointments, specialists, and sometimes emergency visits, many of which require long travel and expenses that quickly add up. Between transportation, medical supplies not covered by insurance, delays in benefits and incomes, the financial strain can be overwhelming.

We are starting this fundraiser to help support Amelia’s continued care and development.

Donations will go toward:

• Travel to and from medical appointments and hospitals

• Medical supplies and specialized care needs that insurance doesn’t cover

• Therapy and developmental support that insurance may not cover

• Costs related to unexpected emergency visits
