Zach and Sonya (Javens) Robinson are expecting a little girl in April 2026. Their fourth kiddo, Amelia Mae Robinson. They are loving parents to three beautiful daughters, Christi, Lilli, and Zariah. If you have ever met either of them it is abundantly clear how devoted they are to giving their children the most love, support, and comfortable lives they can.

During Sonya's pregnancy, Amelia was diagnosed with multiple complex congenital heart defects (CHD) including Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) with Mitral Atresia (MA), Aortic Atresia (AA), and suspected double outlet right ventricle (DORV). This means Amelia’s heart did not develop the way it normally does in pregnancy, and it will not be able to pump blood to the body how it should. This causes more work for the heart which could lead to further heart problems or failure if not repaired. To correct this condition, Amelia will have to undergo multiple open-heart surgeries. First the Norwood (around a week or so of life), the Glenn (around 3-6 months old), and Fontan (between ages 3-5). Her first surgery will be happening in Cincinnati.

In addition to the heart defects, Amelia has also been diagnosed with duodenal atresia which means she has an intestinal blockage or stricture that could cause feeding and digestion problems after birth. This will also require surgery after she has stabilized from her first heart surgery.

Amelia’s medical journey will take place across Akron and Cincinnati, with hospital stays lasting an unknown length of time. Throughout this time, Sonya will be living in or near the hospital to remain by Amelia’s side during surgeries and recovery. Due to these circumstances, Zach will continue to work without taking leave to support the family financially, while also helping to care for their three daughters who will be residing with family. The distance between hospitals, home, and work has made transportation a major concern, and the family has been searching for a safe, dependable, and affordable vehicle to travel back and forth. Depending upon Sonya's ability to carry Amelia to full term, she may have to be placed in Akron awaiting Amelia's arrival for monitoring as she has a condition known as polyhydramnios, an excess amount of amniotic fluid, which can cause and increase the risk of preterm labor.

The Robinsons are kind, hardworking, devoted, and proud people with a small circle of support. These complications have placed a significant amount of hardship on this family. While donations are never expected, they are deeply appreciated as the family navigates an incredibly difficult and emotional season. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps ease the burden and allows this family to focus on what matters most: Amelia’s fight and their family’s well-being.

Thank you for reading, sharing, supporting, and keeping the Robinson family in your thoughts and prayers.
