Sometimes life surprises us with challenges we never expect. Our dear friends Mike and Kodi welcomed their beautiful baby boy, Alexander, into the world. While he is already so loved and cherished, he was born with a cleft lip and gum, which means he will need specialized surgery to help him eat, grow, and thrive. On March 23rd, Alex will undergo surgery with a specialist out of state to correct his lip and gum. This will require his parents to travel and take time away from work so they can be by his side every step of the way. As any parent knows, being present during something this big for your child isn’t optional—it’s everything.

Between travel costs, medical expenses, lodging, and time away from work, the financial strain can add up quickly for a family already focused on caring for their newborn.
