AJ will be undergoing surgery at Shriners Children's Hospital in Philadelphia on August 7, 2024.

Friends and family of Hannah and Aaron are hoping to raise enough money to help cover the cost of travel, hotel accommodations, and transportation while they are in Philadelphia and possibly to cover loss of wages from work. Aaron has exhausted most of his paid time off during AJ's first 44 days of life in the hospital at St. Louis Children's.

AJ was born on 02-19-2024, weighing 9lbs 15oz. Partly due to his size, during delivery, his shoulders were lodged in the birth canal and AJ was without oxygen for over 4 minutes. He had to be resuscitated and flown to Children's Hospital in St. Louis.

During this traumatic birth, he suffered injuries including a Brachial Plexus injury causing paralysis to the left arm and hand. He is now scheduled for surgery, August 7th, at Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. Dr. Kozin, one of the top surgeons in this field, will do a 9 hour nerve transfer and grafts procedure, hoping that movement will be restored to the whole arm, elbow, wrist, and fingers.
