Hello Everyone,

My name is Carolyn Bulatao, sister to Robin

Bulatao, sister-in-law to Dennis Villaruz,

and auntie to their beautiful baby girl Aila

Evanora Bulatao Villaruz.

For about two months now, Aila has been

experiencing difficulties in breathing,

maintaining her normal weight, and struggling to be the cooing, cheeky baby she was just a few months ago.

On Monday, May 19th during her follow up appointment for an ER visit the week prior, she was rushed to Stanford to prepare for open heart surgery. At only under 5 months old, baby Aila had contracted a rare congenital heart condition known as Cor Triatriatum, essentially a thin membrane dividing the left and right chambers of the heart, disrupting the blood flow passage, channeling blood into the heart.

As of now, Aila is undergoing

surgery and is to be placed into an induced

coma for a few days until her heart heals to

beat on its own.

Through several sleepless nights and

heartbreaking sights of their beloved baby

hooked to hundreds of tubes, monitered by

prayers and wishes, Aila's still pushing.

I created this post to help guide my big sister’s loving family through this tough time, as well as to show them how much love and support that’s coming their way. From raising three young children to needing time off work, all while taking turns kneeling next to a hospital bed.

To ease tensions and emotional turmoil, each donation will be put towards to Aila’s surgery as well as other medical bills.
