Support Baby Adalyn's Journey with Trisomy 18
Donation protected
In February, Madison and Peyton were overjoyed to find out that they were having a baby girl. They lovingly chose the name Adalyn Elisabeth and could not wait to meet their precious miracle. However, at 20 weeks, Madison went in for an anatomy scan, and the results came back abnormal. Two weeks later, they received the devastating diagnosis that Adalyn has a rare genetic disorder called Trisomy 18, also known as Edwards Syndrome. They were told at that time that Adalyn would most likely be born stillborn or would not make it past her first day of life. They prayed that God would deliver a miracle.
On July 22nd, Adalyn, the mighty miracle, made her appearance into the world at 4 lbs 1 oz, breathing on her own with no obvious serious medical problems that would require NICU care. Madison and Peyton were overjoyed that they were able to take Adalyn home two days later. However, she now requires around the clock monitoring and care from in-home medical professionals. She is unable to get enough nutrients on her own and currently has a feeding tube. They also received confirmation that Adalyn has a heart defect that will require heart surgery in the future.
The purpose of this GoFundMe is to raise money to cover medical expenses and incidentals that Madison and Peyton will incur while trying to get Adalyn the best possible care. Raising a baby is stressful enough. The hope is that this fund can help decrease the overwhelming stress of the unknown and help them to focus on Adalyn's health.
From the bottom of our hearts, we are so grateful for any donations. Any amount, no matter how small, will help ease the burden. Prayers are also greatly appreciated. We believe prayer is what has gotten Adalyn to the point where she could go home against all odds.
Thank you so much for your support.
