Hi, this is Liz & Marc, and together we’re raising funds for our sick three-month-old kitten, Babka Black Beans. We adopted Babka and her pal, Mango Tango, a little over a month ago. They became inseparable almost instantly—playing, cuddling, and exploring together like best buds.

A few days ago, Babka suddenly became very ill. She was diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), a rare and devastating disease caused by a mutation of the feline coronavirus. Before we knew what was happening, she began losing movement in her front legs and struggling to stand. We rushed her to the hospital, where she began treatment immediately—thankfully preventing even more severe neurological damage.

For those unfamiliar (as we were), FIP is almost always fatal without prompt treatment, and the medication required is extremely expensive. There is hope, though: with early and consistent care, many cats—about 70%—can recover fully.

Babka is now home with us and fighting hard. She’s alert, curious, and already showing small improvements, though she’s still wobbly and needs intensive daily treatment. We’re doing everything we can to give her the best chance at a full life.

Her hospitalization has already cost thousands of dollars, and the medication she needs for the next several months will be a significant ongoing expense. We want to give Babka every chance to survive and thrive, and we’re humbly asking for help to relieve some of the financial burden.
