Hello, my name is Bryson and I live in Bakersfield, CA. One of our cats has recently been diagnosed with a fatal illness known as FIP or Feline Infectious Peritonitis.
Treatment is relatively new and expensive, and I am not in a position to be able to afford the medication. I am making this as a last hope for my little baby so that she may not be taken from us.
FIP is a rapid onset illness with an average time of days to weeks left for your cat from the time you notice symptoms. Baast has "wet" FIP, which thankfully is easier to catch due to the symptoms being easier to spot. It has not evolved into neurological problems yet, which is a good sign, but I am trying to act as quickly as possible to give her the best fighting chance.
With the money donated, we will be able to purchase vials of GS-441524 compound, which is a newer medicine with high success rates. I will leave a story of how we came upon our little babies in parentheses for those that want more information and if you donate or even view, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
(Over 4 years ago, on a random night playing pickleball, my friend stumbled upon 2 stray cats in a neighborhood park. They looked close to maybe 6 months old, no older than a year at most. At the time, we were wanting to get a cat of our own and had looked around everywhere to find one that was in need of loving "parents," but lo and behold, that night was the night we became cat dads. Both cats walked up to my friend and hopped in his car, and that was that. We brought them home, named one Tom and the other Baast, and have been caring for them ever since with no problems up until now.)
I have come to terms that it may be her time to pass, and my only priority is making sure she is comfortable if that is the case but I do not want to give up hope for her.
