Update 5/16: We had some tough news, Azariah has stage 3 colon cancer. This was unexpected by the doctors and us, with his age and no family history this is rare. They want to give his body a little time to recover from surgery, then they will begin chemo. The hope is that even with chemo, he’ll be able to do what he loves most, play music ♥️
We don’t know what this means financially as far as medical bills and we are so grateful to everyone who has donated. Much love -M
Azariah will have surgery on his bladder and colon on Friday, May 9th. This is a major surgery with a long recovery. Barring complications, he will be in the hospital for a week minimum post-op, then will have home health care a few times a week for the first couple of weeks after returning home and another possible surgery 6 months down the line.
The reality of being a full-time musician is that this means missing tons of work during the busy season. We're grateful to have insurance and hopefully, FMLA leave for Milly, but as folks know, the US health system is broken, we have thousands of dollars in medical bills from the last hospital stay and are unsure how much will be covered this round.
